The Arts and Culture Unit is part of the Culture and Leisure Administration and is included in the area of libraries, museums, and culture. The unit is responsible for the city's art collection and artistic design, cultural experiences for children and young people, culture for the elderly, as well as grants and other support for the independent cultural sector. As Mölndal grows and develops, there are good opportunities to influence and contribute to the development in the cultural field.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Mölndal Municipality is now seeking a temporary culture coordinator with a focus on associations and adults/elderly. You who become our temporary culture coordinator will have a very important role in promoting and developing the cultural life and our collaborations with associations, study associations, and other cultural actors.
In the role of culture coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting and promoting associations and cultural actors in their work to create a vibrant cultural offering in the city. The assignment includes being an enabler and supporting associations and cultural practitioners in audience development issues.
You will be responsible for the allocated budget within the operational area. A significant and important part is that you are responsible for processing, administration, evaluation, and development of our cultural support and scholarships. A broad administrative experience within the cultural field is a requirement. You will conduct surveys, investigations, and write reports, as well as prepare matters for politicians. You may also participate in projects where you can take on different roles depending on the assignment. The position may include responsibility for implementing parts of an event in 2026.
The position also includes responsibility for planning and coordinating cultural programs primarily for the elderly. Implementation takes place in collaboration with other partners and administrations in Mölndal Municipality.
The position is mainly during the day, but evening and weekend work may occur.
We are looking for someone who has a strong commitment and knowledge of how culture as a driving force can contribute to societal development. You have the experience and knowledge to drive various development efforts, are a good observer of the environment, and are good at achieving results through collaboration.
As a person, you have a professional approach and contribute to a good working climate.
You can work independently with varied tasks and are good at planning, organizing, and executing. To thrive in the position, you find it easy to collaborate and work just as well independently as in a team. You are outgoing, curious, and structured. You are attentive to your surroundings while being engaged, action-oriented, and solution-focused. The position requires you to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
QUALIFICATIONS
You should have a university degree in cultural sciences or other education/experience that the employer assesses as equivalent. You should have broad knowledge of and interest in cultural issues, good administrative skills, and be able to express yourself easily in speech and writing. You need to have very good knowledge and experience in working with the Office suite. We would like you to have some knowledge in the field of communication. You have experience working both independently and in teams. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, where collaboration skills, flexibility, and initiative are important qualities. You should have experience working in public operations related to the cultural field and in a politically governed organization. You also have knowledge of and interest in the role of culture in societal development.
A valid driver's license (B) is required.
The employment form is a temporary position for about one year. Selection and interviews will be ongoing.
