The municipality is organized into an administration with four sectors. The Education Sector includes preschools and primary schools with associated school-age childcare, special schools, high schools, adult education, and Culture and Leisure.

Job Responsibilities

As a school librarian with us, you will:

Pedagogical Support: Work closely with students to support their learning by providing guidance in information retrieval, source criticism, and the use of digital and printed media. Through your engagement, you create a positive environment where students receive help navigating and understanding the digital world.
Collaboration with Teaching: Be part of the teaching process by collaborating with teachers and students. You support in subject areas such as reading comprehension, language development, and critical thinking, thus contributing to a dynamic learning process.
Development of Digital Competence: Help students develop their digital competence by teaching them how to search for, evaluate, and assess information. This is an important part of the school's mission to prepare students for an information-rich society.
Promote Equity: Contribute to equitable education by ensuring that all students, regardless of background, have access to relevant and up-to-date information as well as a stimulating and accessible reading environment.

Qualifications

Degree in library and information science or other academic education deemed relevant by the employer for the position.
Good knowledge of information retrieval, source criticism, and the use of digital media.
Knowledge of accessibility adaptations and how to promote reading, including resources from the Swedish Agency for Accessible Media (MTM) and the National Library's guidelines.
Experience working in school libraries or similar educational environments is an advantage.
Driver's license (B) is required.

As a person, we are looking for someone who enjoys creating and maintaining good relationships, as collaboration is a central part of the work as a school librarian. You should also be able to lead groups of both children and adults, making good pedagogical skills an important competence.
