Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an engaged and experienced environmental coordinator with an interest and specialization in conducting environmental inventories, driving investigations, and being the administration's representative in operational environmental issues. In your role as an environmental coordinator at the Technical and Leisure Administration, you will work with environmental coordination in parallel across several of our projects and throughout the entire process chain. This can be both in the planning and design phases as well as during implementation. The role also includes working broadly with other environmental issues within the administration, such as monitoring environmental measures, assisting in the preparation of environmental reports, and maintaining contacts with authorities. The role also involves collaboration with the Community Planning Administration, including participating in the development of strategic documents, conducting various investigations, and responding to external referrals.

You will have an overarching and cohesive role within the administration concerning environment, climate, and sustainability, and in the long term, the position will also involve an active role in preparing the administration's contribution to the municipality's sustainability reporting.

Qualifications

We are looking for a person with broad climate and environmental knowledge who can build relationships and drive processes to utilize and further develop the capacity that exists locally, and who can also identify and contract external specialist knowledge if needed for the various initiatives. For the role, you are required to have:

• Good experience in working with environmental coordination and have a relevant academic degree in sustainability, environmental science, or similar.
• Several years of experience in environmental issues.
• Knowledge of the Environmental Code and other legislation related to the environment.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Good knowledge of the Office suite and computer skills.
• Driver's license.

Desirable qualifications include:

• Project management training.
• Experience working in a politically governed organization.

As a person, you are independent, structured, meticulous, and enjoy finding new solutions and can lead projects. You have a strong commitment to sustainability issues. You also have analytical skills and the ability to communicate analyses and investigations in a pedagogical manner, both in writing and orally, in various contexts. You need to be able to work at both a strategic and operational level, which also involves some fieldwork, such as sampling. You have a curious approach to working broadly with environmental and climate issues.

The Technical and Leisure Administration is responsible for the municipality's technical and leisure activities. The administration consists of the units Property, Leisure, Street/Park, and Water and Sewage (VA), as well as a Staff for administration. Property manages the construction and maintenance of the municipality's premises, Leisure is responsible for recreational facilities and support for associations, Street/Park manages streets, roads, and parks, while VA is responsible for drinking water and wastewater.
