County Administrative Board is looking for summer staff for Store Mosse National Park

Are you interested in working with nature guidance and management in Store Mosse National Park?

The Unit

Store Mosse National Park covers approximately 7700 hectares of high bog, marsh, forest, and agricultural landscape.

For the park's visitors, there are about 50 kilometers of trails and a large number of outdoor facilities. In Naturum, the park's visitor center, nature guidance is provided with guided tours, both outdoors and indoors, year-round. Six people work in the national park, of which two are involved in nature guidance and four in management and supervision. During the peak season from June to August, we need to strengthen the staff with 3 seasonal guides for a total of 10 weeks. Are you one of them?

Job Responsibilities

• Provide qualified nature and cultural guidance to the public inside Naturum
• Nature guiding for children and adults in Swedish and English in Store Mosse National Park
• Participation in the design of activities/guided tours
• Sales and staffing of Naturum's shop
• Light maintenance of Naturum, such as emptying trash and cleaning exhibitions and restrooms
• Simpler administrative tasks
• Some supervision of interns
• Supervision and maintenance such as lawn mowing, dam regulation, and fishway, checking electric fences

Qualifications

We prefer that you have completed or are pursuing an education in biology/natural sciences or another education that we consider equivalent. You should be able to conduct nature guiding in Swedish and English. If you have good knowledge in one or more areas such as ecology, animal and plant species, geology, and outdoor life, experience working outdoors, both alone and in groups, and previous experience in nature guidance, educational activities, and/or practical nature conservation, we see this as meritorious.

A driver's license (B) is a requirement for the position. If you speak and understand German, have good knowledge of Store Mosse National Park, and good knowledge of the web and social media, this is also meritorious.

We are looking for someone who is social and outgoing with good collaboration skills and the ability to independently plan and organize your work.

Conditions

The positions cover 80% - 100% and are seasonal employment from June 16 to August 24, 2025.
