About the unit
The Operational Safety Department belongs to the Naval Base's Garrison Unit, which supports the naval commander with expertise and implementation in areas such as coordination of infrastructure, expedition services, environment, work environment, operational safety in land, traffic, and maritime safety, and drives and develops the garrison's training and firing ranges.
Main responsibilities
As a military traffic inspector, your main responsibilities will be to ensure the quality of the vehicle service at the unit and to support the unit commander with further development and follow-up of the vehicle service at the Naval Base and in the Karlskrona garrison.
Your tasks will include:
- Maintaining and ensuring the quality of all vehicle training according to applicable regulations at the garrison
- Conducting driving tests
- Supporting exercise leaders in planning and implementation before, during, and after exercises
- Conducting military road traffic controls
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Completed and approved high school education
- Experience in conducting vehicle training/vehicle service
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
- Driver's license for manually shifted vehicles with the following classes: A, B, BE, C, CE, D, DE

MERITORIOUS
- Traffic inspector
- Appointed military driving instructor
- Other military appointments focused on traffic and vehicle service
- Military driving certificates
- Completed military service or basic military training (GMU)
- Experience from technical service on military vehicle systems.
- Military police or traffic post training

The position involves business trips, participation in training and exercises in the war organization.
Having good physical ability and being able to adhere to the Armed Forces' physical standards is fundamental to our operations.

The Naval Base's overarching task is to support the naval units with logistics such as transportation, basing, surveillance, and medical care, both at home and abroad. The Naval Base has its headquarters in Karlskrona but operates where needed, for example in Berga/Muskö, south of Stockholm, and in Gothenburg. Other major tasks for the Naval Base include monitoring Sweden's 2700 km long coastline with territorial waters.
