About us

BUP Stockholm Section Neuropsychiatry consists of BUP En väg in, as well as five neuropsychiatric clinics: Nordost (Mörby), Nordväst (Solna), Sydost (Sickla), Sydväst (Älvsjö), and Väst (Brommaplan from spring 2025), as well as BUP Assessment Unit Gävlegatan (Brommaplan from spring 2025). The mission is urgent and shared: to assess and treat children and young people with neuropsychiatric difficulties. The units work with medical treatment, assessments, and investigations where the issue is neuropsychiatric difficulties. With us, physicians, psychologists, nurses, medical secretaries, and managers collaborate to provide our patients with accessible, efficient, and patient-focused care. The work environment at BUP Neuropsychiatry is characterized by a focus on development, high competence, and quality.

Job Responsibilities

As a specialist physician, your main responsibilities are to conduct neuropsychiatric assessments of children and young people together with a psychologist according to national guidelines and BUP Stockholm's process maps, as well as to initiate medical treatment upon completion of the assessment and follow up on its effects in a team with a nurse. You will provide support to colleagues during treatment conferences and case assessments based on your profession as a physician.

You, like all employees, are an important part of the team and have the opportunity to contribute to continuous development by participating in the ongoing development work of the organization. Currently, there are 17 other specialist physicians working within child and adolescent psychiatry in the section.

As a specialist physician within BUP Stockholm, you will also be included in the on-call line after introduction.

Qualifications

You who apply should be a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry or a specialist physician in pediatric medicine with relevant specialization and have clinical work experience in the field. You are accustomed to working according to new research and evidence-based methods.

BUP Neuropsychiatry is part of BUP Stockholm. BUP Stockholm offers specialized psychiatric care for children and adolescents from 0 to 17 years within Stockholm County. We are part of the Stockholm County Health Care Area, which is a provider within Region Stockholm. Together, we at BUP have about 1,000 employees who each year meet over 22,000 children, young people, and their families.

The position will be filled provided that it does not need to be allocated for internal relocation, according to current regulations.

In patient-related work within the Stockholm County Health Care Area:

• background checks are applied before hiring decisions according to current guidelines.
• employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
• in addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed staff with patient contact.
