School Nurse for Vittra Sollentuna & Vittra Rösjötorp

We are now looking for a School Nurse for our two Vittra schools in Sollentuna, 80% position.

About Our Schools

Vittra Sollentuna is centrally located with good transport links near Sollentuna Centrum in Sollentuna municipality. The school has about 210 students in grades F-9 and approximately 36 staff members. We have access to a beautiful outdoor environment both in the schoolyard and the surrounding area. The school has been renovated in recent years and is bright and welcoming. We continuously work to create accessible and inviting learning environments. Our student health team consists of the principal, vice-principal, school doctor, school nurse, counselor, special educator, special teacher, school psychologist, and career counselor.

Vittra Rösjötorp International is a preschool and primary school up to grade 6 located in the beautiful Rösjö nature reserve in Sollentuna. We have a bilingual focus, Swedish and English, which gives children and students the chance to learn the English language, in addition to the Swedish curriculum from an early age. We work closely with nature, our educators are present and get to know all students, which makes the students feel safe and seen. The school was selected in 2021 as one of 100 exemplary schools in the world for our work with Agenda 2030. We are also very proud to share that we were one of the five most sustainable schools in Sweden for the year 2021.

Job Responsibilities

As a school nurse, you primarily work in health promotion and prevention. The overall goal is for all students to have the opportunity to achieve passing grades in school. As a school nurse, you are part of a comprehensive student health team at the school and you will collaborate closely with the school doctor, special educator, psychologist, counselor, and principal. A comprehensive student health team should support students' development towards educational goals.

The school nurse's responsibilities include standard school nurse tasks that are essential parts of the work mentioned above.

Health visits and the open clinic are important parts of ensuring that each student receives the support they need in school. Other tasks include vaccinations according to the general vaccination program.

Qualifications

You must be a licensed nurse with specialist training in health care for children and adolescents or primary health care. Previous experience working with children and adolescents, as well as experience as a school nurse, is considered an advantage. The job requires good computer skills.

As a school nurse, you are an important and integrated part of the school's staff. You should be structured and meticulous, enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams, and be somewhat of an entrepreneur, someone who enjoys creating and taking initiatives. You have a strong drive for health-promoting work, to create a school environment that is positive, tolerant, and safe, and to continuously work together to build good relationships at all levels.

Employment Conditions

The position is a permanent position, 6 months probationary period, at 80% (50% at Vittra Sollentuna and 30% at Vittra Rösjötorp).

Start date is September 1, 2025, or by agreement. Possibility for both vacation and leave of absence.
