Do you want to work with us to plan and conduct elections in Sweden? The Election Authority is the hub and engine of the Swedish electoral process, focusing on the voter and driving development from the voter's perspective.

We are now looking for someone who wants to work in an authority that plays a central role in the democratic process!

About the Job

The Election Authority is nationally responsible for planning, coordinating, and conducting general elections and referendums. The authority is also responsible for handling tasks within the framework of the European Union's citizens' initiative.

As an election officer focusing on accessibility, you will develop the authority's work on accessibility with the voter in focus. You will work on developing and managing the framework for accessibility that the Election Authority will provide for election administration. This involves the accessibility of venues, voting procedures, and information for voters. Your work includes providing ongoing support to election administration and collaborating with disability rights organizations and other authorities. You will participate in the planning and coordination of elections and in the development work related to the electoral process. You will also be involved in developing informational and support materials as well as training materials. The role of election officer also includes working on issues beyond accessibility.

The role requires a high level of collaboration and cooperation both internally and with external stakeholders. You need to be communicative, attentive, and loyal to the needs of the organization.

The Swedish Tax Agency is the host authority for the Election Authority, and the Election Authority's office is located in Sundbyberg. The office consists of about 45 employees, and you will work in a team in our election unit.

Our work is characterized by respect and pride in the important mission we have. You plan your own workday both independently and together with knowledgeable and engaged colleagues. We offer you flexible working hours, and it is important for us to create conditions for a balance between work and leisure.

About You

To do a good job and thrive with us at the Election Authority, you need to be attentive, think innovatively, and take responsibility. Good judgment and understanding of legal security and safety are important in the work. You should also adhere to our employee policy (https://skatteverket.se/medarbetarpolicy).

In this job, you should:

  • collaborate and cooperate effectively
  • act on your own initiative, be self-driven, and take responsibility for results
  • understand and analyze complex issues and problems quickly and make reasonable and rational assessments
  • be flexible and quickly adapt to new conditions
  • have a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing
  • be able to analyze information flows, see connections, and make decisions.

You should also have:

  • a completed higher education of at least 180 credits/alternatively 120 old points
  • at least three years of current and relevant work experience from public administration
  • experience working with accessibility issues.

Good to Know

The employment is permanent and may start with a six-month probationary period.

An employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our tasks in the security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
