About the Role and Your Responsibilities

In the activities of the cultural school, all children are welcome regardless of background, needs, or level of ambition.

We operate under the motto “every child’s best cultural school,” where influence and participation are an obvious part of teaching and the development of the organization. Your approach to the pedagogical mission should be characterized by professional curiosity with the student’s needs and cultural world in focus.

As a teacher in the cultural school’s course activities, you must enjoy the broad assignment of meeting both very young students who have just begun to explore their instrument and older, significantly more driven students who primarily need your coaching support as they develop their interest in music.

Teaching mainly takes place in the afternoons and evenings, but weekends and school breaks may also occur. We would like you to have experience and see the importance of meaningful work in projects, outreach activities, events, and activities during the school holidays.

You truly enjoy teaching and are passionate about your subject and children’s right to cultural education. You also have the ability to share your enthusiasm with your students and colleagues.

As a person, you are self-driven and thrive in an orderly environment, planning your work and working purposefully to complete tasks.

We Are Looking For You

We are looking for someone who has:

Experience from previous work in a cultural school, primarily teaching guitar or electric bass.
Good pedagogical skills and well-founded experience in various types of teaching situations.
Basic computer skills.

It is also advantageous if you have:

Pedagogical education and/or artistic education at a university/college or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
Good knowledge and experience of working with student influence and participation.

About the Workplace

The Cultural School Lund operates on behalf of the culture and leisure management to best offer cultural pedagogical activities during children’s leisure time. This includes everything from weekend courses and holiday activities to subject courses and outreach events.

At the Cultural School Lund, we offer a wide range of artistic education - in addition to music in all its forms, also dance, drama/theater, film/animation, visual arts, circus arts, composition, and writing. The Cultural School Lund is well-known and works with both depth and breadth in its offerings. We currently have about 105 employees working in the organization.

The culture and leisure management's approximately 350 employees work to provide the residents of Lund with access to meaningful leisure activities and enriching cultural experiences, now and in the future. We are passionate about culture, libraries, sports, and youth and work to create conditions and access to stimulating living environments and activities that not only increase quality of life but also promote good health and active intellect.
