Research Assistant for the Plant Ecology Program
The Department of Ecology and Genetics is an international environment with staff and students from all over the world.

We are now seeking a research assistant for the Plant Ecology program.
Project Description
The research assistant will work on projects studying the ecological and genetic factors that influence local adaptation in plants.
Responsibilities
Work to prepare, establish, and collect data in large-scale experiments with plants in the field and greenhouse. Responsibilities include seed germination on sterile agar and planting, controlled crosses, DNA extraction and quantification, microscopy, recording flowering phenology, leaf traits, survival and reproduction of study plants, data compilation, and method development.
Qualifications
Master's degree, or a foreign degree assessed to be equivalent to a master's degree, in plant ecology. Experience in independent work with the establishment and reading of field and greenhouse experiments studying ecological and genetic factors' significance for local adaptation in plants, as well as demographic studies of orchids. Driver's license.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities such as a very good ability to work both independently and in a group, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. The candidate must have a very good ability to express themselves in English and/or Swedish, both orally and in writing.
About the Employment
The position is temporary until September 14, 2025. The scope is full-time. Start date as soon as possible by agreement. Location: Uppsala.
