About the Defense Staff

The Defense Staff supports the Supreme Commander in handling and preparing matters at the military strategic level and ensures that decisions made by the authority's management are implemented, followed up, and reported back. The Defense Staff is also responsible for translating the government's guidance of the Armed Forces into strategic plans and directing the branches of defense and combat forces. Furthermore, the Defense Staff has an overarching responsibility for coordinating personnel, infrastructure, and material supply.

About the Security Department of the Defense Staff

The Security Department is placed under the Chief of the Defense Staff and is responsible for the security service within the Chief of the Defense Staff's operational responsibility. The department consists of the Security Section, the Suasection, and the Conscription Security Section. This position is located at the Conscription Security Section with responsibility for personnel security regarding conscripts. The department and section collaborate with all branches of defense and combat forces as well as with nearby authorities, primarily with the National Service and Assessment Agency.

Main Responsibilities

The Security Department's Conscription Security Section is looking for an experienced production manager with high competence and long-term experience in the security protection area. As a production manager, you will coordinate and direct employees in their work to ensure a robust and effective handling to comply with the requirements of the security protection legislation within the personnel security area regarding conscripts.

As the production manager for the Conscription Security Section, you are responsible for directing, coordinating, and maintaining the ongoing operations regarding security assessments of conscripts. This responsibility includes coordinating the units that conduct security assessments at the enlistment offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, and Umeå.

The production manager for the Conscription Security Section has a significant responsibility to actively develop the organization, personnel, and methods in the area. You may be required to make decisions in security assessment matters and are responsible for keeping the archive of personal records up to date.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Current and relevant documented and well-reputed experience in production management
  • Current and relevant experience in personnel security operations, primarily security assessments, within a government authority
  • Post-secondary education in a field relevant to the position or other experience deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Current knowledge and understanding of security protection legislation and preferably the Armed Forces' regulations primarily in personnel security
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
  • Driver's license B

DESIRABLE

  • Trained security manager and/or IT security manager
  • Current and relevant experience in conducting training in the personnel security area
  • Experience and education in the security protection area, such as security protection planning, security protection analysis, and position analysis
  • Experience in project management
  • Knowledge of regulations regarding conscription
  • Knowledge and experience working in the Armed Forces' IT systems
  • Knowledge in handling the Armed Forces' war organization and readiness system
  • Humint training focused on conversation and interrogation

Other:

Employment type: Permanent employment starting with a six-month probationary period for those who have not previously been employed within the Armed Forces

Employment rate: Full-time

Work location: Stockholm. Travel is included in the position

At the Headquarters, the Supreme Commander and the Director General are located. The Headquarters has approximately 1,000 employees – both professional officers and civilian experts. From January 1, 2023, the Headquarters consists of the Defense Staff, Operations Management, Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the Headquarters' Staff Department and independent supervisory units.

Employment with us means placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. A security assessment with a background check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment also includes an obligation to be assigned to military service. The implications of this vary depending on the type of position.
