JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who wants to play an important role in helping our summer workers succeed and enjoy their summer jobs. The mentor's task is to guide and support the youth in their daily work so that they can perform their tasks in a clear and effective manner.

You will introduce and guide young people in their tasks and work environment. Your role is to be a support and a mentor throughout the employment period. You encourage and motivate the youth to take responsibility and develop in their roles.

You will be employed by Gothenburg City but will be placed in associations and civil society where you will be an important channel between us, our employed youth, and the workplaces we staff. The work requires your ability to lead yourself and others. Pedagogical skills, good communication abilities, and the ability to collaborate are also important for the mentor role.

The employment will last from June 9 to August 18. The first weeks will consist of mentor training and introduction to Gothenburg City and the relevant workplace. We will need approximately 10 mentors.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply should have completed high school and be at least 20 years old at the start of employment. It is also a requirement that you have experience working with children and youth.

We consider it an advantage if you:

• have experience in sports and community life.
• have experience leading youth at camps or similar activities, or if you are active as a coach in any sport.
• have further education that the employer considers relevant.

To succeed in this role, you need to understand the common mission and take responsibility for your tasks, working to ensure the best possible outcome for those we serve. A large part of your work is based on collaborating well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. It is important that you remain calm and secure in pressured and difficult situations and that you can balance demands and time pressure while making well-informed decisions.
