Södra Folkhögskolan in Helsingborg is seeking a teacher for the General Course responsible for one of our upcoming courses starting in the autumn of 2025. We are looking for someone with strong subject knowledge in several core subjects, preferably in both mathematics, natural sciences, and other qualifying subjects. This is a general course focusing on democracy and society.

Södra Folkhögskolan is run by Folkuniversitetet as the main authority. Folkuniversitetet is characterized by the idea of providing people with opportunities for a richer life through lifelong learning.

At our school, culture and community are important. It should feel meaningful and fun to come to school – both as a participant and as staff. Learning occurs not only in the classroom but also through encounters with reality, out in the community.

We are now looking for someone who wants to help develop our activities. You will be responsible for teaching several core subjects and be a mentor for a group of participants. You enjoy working across subjects and together with other educators, and understand the importance of relationship-building in pedagogy.

We have a participant group that has often been far from studies or work. Therefore, our teaching is individualized and flexible. We are looking for someone who is engaged, solution-focused, and sees each participant's strengths and potential.

We expect you to:

- Have a pedagogical degree, preferably with a focus on folk high school

- Have experience teaching several core subjects

- Be flexible and accustomed to working in an individualized manner

- Have experience working at a folk high school (meritorious)

About the position

The employment is a permanent full-time position, starting August 5, 2025. Initial probationary period of 6 months.

The position involves responsibility for a new general course starting in the autumn of 2025.
