Deputy Company Commander for the 3rd Helicopter Squadron in Ronneby

About the unit:

The 3rd Helicopter Squadron operates at Blekinge Air Force Wing in Ronneby. We are one of four squadrons and belong to the Helicopter Wing in Linköping. At the squadron in Ronneby, we have about 190 employees. Our unit is housed in modern facilities where the entire squadron is gathered in a common building. Our development and growth provide many opportunities for you as an employee. The squadron's mission is primarily focused on maritime operational activities, which means close cooperation with the Navy. The 3rd Helicopter Squadron is now developing helicopter base capability in the form of a base company. The base company supports within the functions of aviation fuel, aviation ammunition, communication, rescue, and close protection.

About the position:

In your role as Deputy Company Commander, you assist the Company Commander in leading and planning the main tasks of the operation, personnel and material responsibility, as well as planning and budgeting for the company's activities. Additionally, you will lead the company during exercises and operations. You are being prepared for the position of Company Commander. In the wartime organization, you will serve as Deputy Company Commander or staff officer in the squadron staff.

The position includes:

  • Responsibility for the establishment of the company, recruitment/staffing
  • War planning
  • Operational planning and budgeting responsibility
  • Exercise and operational activities.
  • Readiness tasks
  • Maintenance of soldier skills and competencies
  • Responsibility for training the company to solve assigned tasks
  • Regular physical training/sports.

Qualifications:

  • Swedish citizen
  • Officer training
  • Driver's license at least category B, manual transmission
  • Military driver's license.
  • Physical ability according to the Armed Forces' requirements.

Desirable:

  • Driver's license category C1 or higher
  • Previous employment/service related to aviation maintenance, flight base service.
  • Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience working in a company/battalion staff or equivalent
  • Current and relevant leadership training
  • Experience in personnel service and work environment in the Armed Forces

The Swedish Armed Forces Helicopter Wing is a unit with both land and maritime operational focus that can operate in missions in Sweden and internationally.

Helicopter support is in demand by many. For example, for personnel, material, or medical transport, command, reconnaissance, or surveillance missions. The Helicopter Wing often participates in missions and exercises with other units but also as support to society in various crisis situations.

Our operations span across Sweden, the breadth of tasks, and the size of the wing with over 950 employees provide a variation in work and opportunities for personal development. The majority of the Helicopter Wing is located in Linköping (Malmen), where we also manage Malmen Airport and Linköping Garrison, with two large units in Luleå (Kallax) and Ronneby (Kallinge).
