Mälarbacken's kitchen prepares and delivers food to Mälarbacken, Traneberg, and Brommagården's care and nursing homes, day care, psychiatry, and home care within Bromma's district administration.

Our kitchen is relatively newly built and has a good range of equipment. We are a cheerful team working to serve our guests with good, homemade traditional food.

Job Description

In our large kitchen, we prepare about 1000 portions per day distributed between lunch and dinner deliveries. The food is delivered in containers to the various departments or packed chilled for home care meal boxes. In addition to the regular menu, we prepare special diets that follow the regular menu. The special diets mainly consist of those that require consistency adjustments. As a nutrition student / chef, we want you to have the ability to take responsibility for several of the operation's stations. We need you to have good computer skills, be able to handle recipes and orders, and have knowledge of ingredients. Cooking according to existing recipes and packing meal boxes with precision and hygiene in mind. When planning menus, we take into account the preferences of our elderly guests and constantly work to develop the menu. A major challenge of the job is to deliver meals according to the customer's wishes. The goal is to provide all elderly people with a good dining experience. We also have some internal ordering operations and deliver sandwich cakes, lunches, and other small items according to customer requests. We work with the Mashie meal planning system to ensure that the right customer receives the right food via recipes during preparation and packing of containers for delivery.

Qualifications

Started nutrition education (nutrition student) or a 3-year high school education as a chef or other education that the employer deems equivalent. With equivalent education, consideration will be given to internal training during long-term work in large kitchens.

You have knowledge of cooking and nutritional needs for elderly, frail, and ill guests. Very good knowledge of consistency-adjusted diets, other special diets, and allergies. You should preferably have experience working in a large kitchen with at least 300 portions.

You take your own initiatives and are self-sufficient. In stressful situations, you are stable and calm. When the conditions for the day change, you are flexible and find solutions to problems that may arise. This is a good foundation for providing our customers with the best service and high-quality food. As a nutrition student / chef, we want you to have a good economic mindset for production in the kitchen.

It is important that you can organize and plan both your own and others' tasks.
