Job Responsibilities

The Swedish Transport Administration Logistics supplies the infrastructure of the Swedish railway with technically approved railway materials. We deliver to planned projects and maintenance work as well as corrective maintenance. We are about 75 employees and are located in Nässjö and Sannahed, Kumla. We are a logistics unit that secures the supply of railway components throughout the facility's entire lifecycle. We procure materials from about 200 suppliers. Our customers are the Swedish Transport Administration and contractors operating in the industry.

The rail workshop in Sannahed is a modern facility for handling rails and producing long rails. Here, rails of 40-120 meters are welded together to create long rails of up to 420 meters in length - a precision job that results in virtually unnoticeable joints. After welding, the weld is ground, polished, aligned, and finally inspected. The long rails are then loaded onto specially built train sets for transport to the unloading site, where they are used in the construction of railway tracks.

As an operator/industrial electrician with us, you will work with:

• Being responsible for the various electrical tasks that need to be performed at the facility.
• Working on future investment/development projects for the facility
• Proposing improvement measures for the facility
• Troubleshooting/corrective maintenance in electrical/automation facilities
• Performing minor repairs for mechanics/hydraulics
• Participating in long rail production

Additionally

Besides the above, if you have a safety service, you will also drive locomotives and manage switching on sidings. The job therefore requires you to have a high safety awareness and to follow all rules and directives carefully. Parts of the year we will work in shifts and possibly have rotating on-call duties outside office hours (evenings/nights, weekends). Limited travel may occur. We offer on-site training as we are the only facility in Sweden that performs this type of work. You will have the opportunity to learn from the best and develop your skills in a unique environment.

We are looking for someone who has

• a high school education with an electrical engineering focus, or you have another education combined with relevant recent experience that we assess as equivalent
• a valid driver's license for passenger cars
• good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
• at least 3 years of experience in similar tasks

It is advantageous if you have

• Forklift training
• Documented experience in CAD
