The Department of Service Management is looking for three SI Leaders for the autumn semester of 2025.

We are seeking experienced students enrolled in our bachelor's programs in service management or logistics service management who want to work part-time helping students in courses they have already completed.

Responsibilities

As an SI Leader, you will regularly organize meetings where you lead student groups in your subject according to standard SI methodology. The purpose of the SI sessions is for the student group to discuss the concepts and questions of the subject and together come up with answers and solutions. Students learn to see each other as teaching resources and are trained in collaborative learning.

The SI Leader's task is to guide the students and structure the SI sessions. The SI Leader should not teach or present anything, but the group should collaboratively process the course content that has already been presented by the teachers. The SI Leader acts as support and a sounding board in this process.

The specific responsibilities for this position include:

  • preparing and leading SI sessions in the bachelor's programs in service management and logistics service management
  • registering and reporting attendance after each SI session
  • writing a brief summary after each SI session
  • scheduling your own SI sessions and otherwise assisting with SI administration
  • participating in SI training when offered

Other tasks may also occur.

Eligibility

To be employed as a teaching assistant, you must, according to Chapter 5, Section 10 of the Higher Education Ordinance, be admitted to education at the undergraduate or advanced level. The degree must not have been awarded.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position are:

  • you must be admitted and have started your second or third year in our bachelor's programs in service management or logistics service management,
  • you must be on track with your studies,
  • you must be responsible, flexible, and willing to adapt to the needs of the student group,
  • you must be able to collaborate easily with others,
  • you must be self-driven,
  • you must have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.

Meritorious for the position is:

  • you should have participated in SI sessions as a student.

Requirements to be an SI Leader also include having completed SI Leader training. This is offered to prospective SI Leaders at the beginning of each semester. Therefore, you can apply for the position without having completed SI Leader training. If you have good academic results, we consider that an advantage. Additionally, great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Other

The position is temporary from August 15, 2025, to December 15, 2025, and is for 10% of full-time. The position must not negatively affect the teaching assistant's studies. Regulations regarding educational employment as a teaching assistant can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12, not LAS-based. The position includes vacation, which is planned in consultation within the employment.

The Department of Service Management belongs to the Faculty of Social Sciences and has its operations located at Campus Helsingborg. The department, which has existed since 2000, is a successful interdisciplinary research and educational environment.

The department offers two bachelor's programs in service management. Furthermore, there is a master's program in service management with five specializations: culture and creativity management, retail, supply chain service management, sustainable service management, and tourism. The language of instruction at the bachelor's level is Swedish, and at the master's level, it is English.

The research at the department is based on current societal issues where the service sector is in focus. The research is organized into five interdisciplinary themes: Sustainability, resources and services; management, organization and work; tourism, place and mobility; consumption, marketing and retail; and cultural and creative industries.
