Job Responsibilities

As a support educator, you will work closely with other staff members. You will collaborate closely with our support educator in Skepplanda. You will also be part of a network with other educators within functional support for experience exchange, operational development, and support in your work.

As a support educator with us, you have a holistic view of the users of the operation and, from a pedagogical perspective, you plan, implement, evaluate, and guide your colleagues in the methods and practices of the operation. You have a collaborative and supportive role in the work team and act as a role model, inspiring your colleagues in pedagogical work.

The professional role includes everyday support and mapping of the users' abilities. The assignment includes providing support in formulating goals based on the implementation plan as a step towards increasing the users' independence. The position involves day, evening, and every other weekend shifts.

Qualifications

In your role, you are a support and guide for each individual employee and the work group. You guide the work group based on the needs and methods of the operation. To do this, you need to have a motivating and pedagogical approach and be able to share knowledge easily.

We are looking for someone with work experience with the target group. You have actively worked as a support assistant or support educator within LSS or have other experience that the employer assesses as equivalent. You should have a broad knowledge and experience of working with people with various functional variations.

You need to be well acquainted with LSS legislation. You should have knowledge and experience of low-arousal responses and clarifying pedagogy. Additionally, knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) and proficiency in social documentation and creating implementation plans is required. You have good computer skills.

We are looking for someone who is confident and stable in their professional role. In this role, it is important that you take responsibility for your tasks, plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently. It is also important that you are flexible and can adapt to the needs of the operation. The ability to express yourself clearly in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, is required, as documentation is part of the work.

To work as a support educator, a post-secondary education in the field of disabilities equivalent to a two-year folk high school or equivalent pedagogical orientation, such as a YH education, or at least 60 higher education credits in relevant areas that the employer assesses as equivalent is required. A B driver's license and experience with the documentation program Treserva are advantageous for the position.
