Summer Temporary Position as Residential Assistant

About Us

Villa Viking is centrally located in Herrljunga with good transportation links. The residence has 6 places.

Villa Viking is an LSS residence for young people aged 14-21, both boys and girls, and primarily works with youth who have mild developmental disabilities, neuropsychiatric diagnoses, and challenging behavior issues. With us, young people live who have been granted LSS services, which means they need support and help in their daily lives.

The working hours are irregular, with work during the day, evenings, and weekends.

Job Responsibilities

As a residential assistant, your task is to contribute to the youth's development. The work with the young people is characterized by a salutogenic approach, humor, and clarity in everyday life.

As a residential assistant, you will engage in daily activities with the youth, such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry. You will also conduct educational activities such as conversations, social skills training, and support in contact and collaboration with friends, family, and community agencies. You will also accompany them on activities such as bowling, swimming, Liseberg, etc.

Your role is to support, guide, set boundaries, and motivate.

We work solution-focused and use various educational tools.

Documentation is done in the journal system IDOK.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with ongoing or completed relevant education for the role, such as leisure educator, residential educator, personal assistant, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

You have previous experience working with youth with special needs, and it is an advantage if you have worked with Akk.

You must have a B driver's license, and we prefer that you are smoke-free.

Personal Attributes

As a person, you are calm, secure, and have the ability to set boundaries without becoming emotional. We are looking for someone who can serve as a good adult role model and create stability and trusting relationships.

Both humor and patience are important qualities, as well as the ability to adapt to different situations. As a colleague, you are helpful, supportive, and flexible, and can work both independently and collaboratively with others.

We Offer

For the right person, this is an exciting summer temporary position in a dynamic environment with friendly colleagues. It is both developing and challenging. The work aims to replicate a home-like environment as much as possible, with community, recreational activities, and trips.

Meals are prepared and eaten together with the youth, known as educational meals.
