Project Coordinator for SwedNess
The Department of Chemistry - Ångström conducts research and education in the field of chemistry.
The department has 270 employees and a turnover of 300 million SEK. Within the six programs of the department, highly successful research of international caliber is conducted. We have a large number of externally funded research projects, often with international collaboration, and we see continued good growth in our field. At the department, there is SwedNess, a Swedish research school in neutron scattering, funded by the Foundation for Strategic Research. As the project coordinator for SwedNess, you play a key role in facilitating the work of the participating researchers, making the research visible, and promoting collaboration with other actors, both in Uppsala, at other universities and infrastructures, as well as within industry.
Job Responsibilities
As a project coordinator, you are expected to work operationally in a dynamic environment where there are many interaction points within both academia, infrastructures, and industry. The role of the project coordinator involves supporting the responsible professors, coordinating collaborative projects, and implementing operational goals for the research school and projects. The position consists of coordination, follow-up, and reporting of various projects, as well as communication. The work also involves compiling relevant research and activities within SwedNess. The work is carried out in collaboration with the director, program director, and other research administrative staff.
Qualifications
- PhD in chemistry, physics, or materials science, or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways that the employer deems equivalent.
- Documented and several years of work experience in neutron scattering.
- Experience in supervision within neutron scattering.
- Experience in drafting research-related reports and texts.
- Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. You are proactive, self-driven, and take responsibility for your tasks. You are accustomed to working independently as well as collaborating in teams. You are also quality-conscious, attentive, and unpretentious, and can work under time pressure.
Desirable/Meritorious
Research background regarding advanced materials (including electrochemistry, materials science, or similar). A strong interest in the development of neutron scattering and the Swedish user community.
About the Employment
The position is permanent (a probationary period may apply). The extent is 50%. Start date by agreement. Place of employment: Uppsala.
