Our Operations

VO MHR is an area of operation with consolidated expertise and highly specialized care in the fields of internal medicine, endocrinology-diabetes, nephrology, gastroenterology, dermatology and venereal diseases, as well as rheumatology. We have about 450 employees and provide care in the form of inpatient care, day care, outpatient care, and dialysis.

The section for Gastroenterology and Hepatology provides specialized and highly specialized care for patients with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, and bile ducts. With patients from the local area, the region, and even nationally, our area of responsibility spans the entire field of gastroenterological and hepatological diseases, as well as extensive endoscopic activities. A large consulting service operates throughout the hospital as well as telephone consultations with primary care and other regions. We have our own emergency line on weekday evenings and weekends responsible for inpatients in our department and for consultations internally at the hospital and from other hospitals. We are represented by a professor in gastroenterology, an adjunct professor, four associate professors, and PhD consultants, which provides a good foundation for research. We have a mission to conduct nationally specialized care (NHV) for TIPS (transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt) as one of four hospitals in Sweden and advanced ERCP for PSC as one of five hospitals in the country.

We need to strengthen staffing in our endoscopy unit to meet the rapid development in endoscopy and the rapidly increasing need for endoscopic examinations and procedures.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a specialist physician in gastroenterology and hepatology with broad endoscopic competence. A completed doctoral degree and research interest are meritorious, as well as documented interest and experience in development and improvement work. We expect you to actively participate in the development work at the endoscopy unit. As a teaching and research hospital, we expect you to have an interest in and actively participate in the education of training physicians, medical students, and other staff groups. When filling the position, we place great emphasis on personal suitability, ability for interprofessional collaboration, and teamwork.

We Offer

A permanent full-time position. Your work will primarily be based in the endoscopy unit, but you will also be offered to participate in other work in the section, including on-call duties. Start date according to agreement.
