Your Responsibilities

The starting point for you as a teacher in Swedish, Swedish as a second language, and English is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and value-based work based on the curriculum. The work is done both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

As a teacher in grades 7-9, you collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and others present in the school to achieve higher goal fulfillment and create the best conditions for each student. You start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection during both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit students' learning, as well as your own and the development of the organization, you make use of various professionals' experiences and knowledge.

The position also includes mentorship and teaching during resource time and in special education groups. The position is a temporary contract until 2026-06-18.

Your Workplace

Folkungaskolan is a combined primary and secondary school with approximately 1500 students and about 170 teachers. The school is located in central Linköping within comfortable walking distance from the city. The mix of students from both primary and secondary school makes Folkungaskolan something unique, not only in Linköping but in the entire country.

Folkungaskolan's grades 7-9 have seven parallel classes with about 630 students in total, where all students have a profile or orientation. The school has choir, dance, and art and design profiles, as well as home economics, future, and music production orientations. As a teacher at Folkungaskolan, you are part of a subject team and collaborate closely with your colleagues regarding teaching. In the building, there are also counselors, psychologists, special educators, and student assistants you collaborate with for the best interest of the students.

Who We Are Looking For

Primarily, we are looking for someone with a teaching license authorized to teach Swedish and Swedish as a second language in grades 7-9. Secondly, we are looking for someone with a completed teacher education for grades 7-9 where you will gain authorization in Swedish and Swedish as a second language. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education to become a teacher in Swedish and Swedish as a second language for grades 7-9. It is advantageous if you also have authorization in English for grades 7-9.

It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-driven school through internships or as an employee. It is advantageous if you have taught in grades 7-9 for at least one school year. It is also advantageous if you have experience in grading or documenting students' learning during the school year.

In your role as a teacher in grades 7-9, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is so that you, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), can organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in the community relevant to your professional role.
