Your Responsibilities

As a preschool teacher, your starting point is to have overall pedagogical responsibility in the preschool. You are expected to lead and distribute the pedagogical work within the team while contributing to creating collegial learning. The team will work together to plan, teach, document, and evaluate the content of the activities based on the preschool curriculum and other governing documents.

As a preschool teacher, you promote each child's development and learning based on their interests, experiences, and needs. You create curiosity and a desire to learn, both during planned activities and spontaneous moments. In your role, you will closely collaborate with colleagues and guardians, as well as any contacts with other actors regarding the child.

As a lead preschool teacher, you will spend most of your working hours as a preschool teacher in the operation and the remaining time on assignments to mentor, coach, and support colleagues in developing and working towards high and equitable quality in education. You will work to develop teaching based on scientific principles and proven experience. Your specific assignment may vary depending on the needs of the organization and will be shaped in collaboration with the management team.

Your Workplace

The Tallboda/Ekängen area consists of seven preschools: Gränsliden 8, Tomatvägen 14, Passadvindsvägen 2, Grönhögsvägen 58-60, Fönvindsvägen 12, Hästhagsvägen 8, and Linsvägen 5.

At all our preschools, we work based on a project-oriented approach where projects are driven by the children's interests and the preschool's governing documents. Here, the educators are present, and we explore and learn together with the children. The focus is on the learning process and joyful learning, not just on the results. In everyday life, we place great emphasis on language and mathematics development. Furthermore, we systematically work with reception, communication, and feedback to promote a good working environment for both children and staff.

We have joint staff meetings where you get the opportunity to meet colleagues from other preschools for collaboration and exchange of experiences. The area's deputy principals are also present in the operations once a week to provide support where needed.

To ensure that all children can become their best selves, we work in smaller groups. The goal is for all children in our preschools to experience a preschool environment that is fun, safe, and educational. We have large playgrounds that invite both play and learning. Additionally, the area is geographically located close to forests and water, providing rich opportunities for nature experiences and exploration.

Who You Are

It is a requirement that you have a preschool teacher license. As a lead preschool teacher, you have several years of well-recommended experience in the role of preschool teacher. You have a strong interest in developing teaching. It is advantageous if you have experience as a team leader, lead preschool teacher, or other leadership experience.

You must have a preschool teacher license or have completed or be in the process of completing preschool teacher education. You should also have experience working as a preschool teacher or other relevant experience working with children as assessed by the employer.

As a lead preschool teacher, you have several years of well-recommended previous experience in the role of preschool teacher and you hold a preschool teacher license.

You have good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish. This is necessary so that you can organize and carry out work in accordance with the curriculum (Lpfö18) to support each child's language and communication development and ensure that every child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

In your role as a preschool teacher, you are well aware of the goals and quality standards for preschool operations. You have a good understanding of people's differences and relate to them in a responsive and flexible manner in teaching and everyday preschool life. You create good relationships and collaborate well with the contacts that occur in your professional role. You lead the work with both children and colleagues through motivation, engagement, and participation. As a lead preschool teacher, you are a knowledge resource for others and continuously maintain your knowledge.
