Danderyd High School is one of Stockholm's largest high schools with approximately 1400 students. The school consists of four university preparatory programs (EK, NA, SA, TE) as well as a small adapted high school. The school also has a successful NIU program, a nationally recruiting math specialization program, and an AST program within SA. The operations are well-functioning with various orientations and many fine traditions. Danderyd High School (Dagy) has high ambitions, and most students continue to higher education.

The school's restaurant serves both breakfast and lunch every day. We always serve two dishes, one of which is always vegetarian, along with a salad buffet with a wide variety. We strive to work sustainably by reducing food waste, increasing the proportion of organic food, and using locally produced ingredients in season. We have recently been nominated for the Årets Arla Guldko 2025 in the category of Årets Frukostlyft.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a meal assistant, you have an important role in serving good, inspiring, and nutritious food to our important guests, our students. At Danderyd High School, there are about 1400 students, and 135 teachers and other staff also work here. This means that it is important that you enjoy working in a dynamic environment. We serve 300-400 breakfasts every morning and approximately 1200 lunch portions.

Your tasks will include working in the kitchen preparing salads every other week in the mornings and breakfast service every other week. On the remaining days, you will work in the dining hall serving guests and working in the dishwashing area. You will actively work to develop, streamline, and maintain the kitchen and its routines.

To handle this task, you need to be able to manage physically demanding tasks that include some heavy lifting.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has several years of experience working in a large kitchen at a high school with at least 800 guests.
• Has documented knowledge of food hygiene, self-control, and HACCP.
• Has knowledge of laws and regulations governing kitchen operations.
• Has knowledge of special diets, allergies, vegetarian, and vegan diets.
• Has good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

As a person, you have excellent collaboration skills and a genuine interest in working with young people. You are structured in your work and follow a clear process. Furthermore, you handle stress constructively, maintain a good mood under high pressure and challenges. You thrive in a daily routine with independent work and responsibility where you need to act with good problem-solving skills. In cooking, you are creative and full of ideas and strive to spark interest in healthy food among guests.

For us, it is important that you are a team player and understand the value of collaboration while also being able to work independently. You should have a positive attitude and good communication skills, both with guests and colleagues. We are an ambitious and goal-oriented team, which means you need to be results-oriented and want to help develop the kitchen forward. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
