Procurement Officer for Region Uppsala

Do you want to work with exciting procurements and deals that contribute to strengthening our operations within Region Uppsala? We are now looking for a competent procurement officer for the Supply Chain team!

 The Supply Chain is a collaboration between the regions of Dalarna, Västmanland, Sörmland, Uppsala, and Örebro aimed at providing healthcare and dental care with consumables. Each year, procurements worth approximately 2 billion SEK are carried out. We have a total of about 100,000 contracted items. Region Uppsala is the host for the collaboration, and the employees of the Supply Chain are part of the same unit as the region's own procurement officers and buyers. Within the supply chain assignment, contact with suppliers and operations during contract management is an important part of the work.

Responsibilities

As a procurement officer, you will independently conduct and drive procurements for the regions' operations. The work encompasses the entire procurement process from developing specifications, preparing procurement documents, signing contracts, and managing agreements.

The procurement officer role also includes providing support in procurement matters and, together with your colleagues in the unit, developing the purchasing and procurement operations.

The work as a procurement officer is stimulating and varied with many contacts, and you will become a central person in the work. The work involves leading and steering groups as well as collaborating with reference groups consisting of different professions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree in technology, natural sciences, medicine, economics, or social sciences with relevant experience from work in purchasing and/or sales.
• Another educational background combined with extensive professional experience in purchasing and/or sales.
• Experience in leading groups.
• Good knowledge of the Office suite.
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
• A valid driver's license (B) is required as travel is part of the job. 

Meritorious:

• Healthcare education/experience of working in healthcare or laboratories.

The role of procurement officer requires business acumen and analytical ability. You take responsibility for your tasks and structure your approach, driving your processes forward effectively. You can prioritize and manage several different types of assignments simultaneously, which includes planning, setting up, and adhering to timelines.

You have the ability to adapt to the situation and also your response based on the recipient in a responsive, clear, and smooth manner. As a person, you are secure, stable, and self-aware.
