Healthcare Assistant at the Neuro and Stroke Unit in Östersund

Do you want to develop, be part of our wonderful team, and work with the patient in focus? Welcome to us at the Neuro and Stroke Unit in Östersund! Here you will meet patients from all over Jämtland Härjedalen with stroke, TIA, acute and planned neurology, and brain tumors. The Neuro and Stroke Unit currently has 18 beds and also handles the region's 'Save the Brain' alarms around the clock.

Our goal is for all newly hired healthcare assistants to receive the support they need to feel secure in their professional role, provide patients with good and safe care, and gain increased knowledge in the specific neurology and stroke area. As a healthcare assistant with us, you will be offered a developing job where you get the chance to use your nursing skills and grow in your role. You will experience many varied care situations, both acute and planned. We have internal training, and as a newcomer, you will receive support from experienced colleagues both during your onboarding and afterwards. In the unit, you will work with a digital patient overview via a tablet that you carry with you throughout your shift.

We have a coordinator on site during weekdays who answers all incoming calls, arranges discharges, transport bookings, orders, and receives reports, which allows you as a healthcare assistant to have a good relief from many tasks. We also use patient-centered services as support for example in patient transport, supply, and food management. During the summer period, we work every other weekend. Those who choose to work with us become part of a wonderful team that learns from and motivates each other.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Healthcare assistant tasks in an inpatient ward such as nursing and patient care, taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate, providing support and assistance in rehabilitation, managing patient documentation via digital support iPad NOVA, entering data into the journal system, and collaborating with other professionals such as doctors, nurses, and therapists.

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree as a healthcare assistant, completed semester 4 of the nursing program, completed semester 4 of the medical program.
