About the Company

GKN Aerospace Sweden is part of GKN Aerospace, which manufactures engine components, aircraft structures, cabin windows, wiring, and much more for many of the world's aircraft. The companies in the Aerospace division that work with parts for aircraft engines form Engines, and at the facility in Trollhättan, advanced parts for engines for aircraft and rockets are developed and manufactured. They also work with engine maintenance.

They have production facilities in Trollhättan, Kongsberg (Norway), Mexico, and the USA. They also have an engineering office in Bangalore, India, and offices in Stockholm (Public Affairs) and Gothenburg. The headquarters for Engines is located in Trollhättan.

Your Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer at GKN, you will belong to the Instrumentation and Component Testing department, where you work with development testing, responsible for the entire measurement chain from sensor through instrument electronics to data collection and measurement data analysis. You will design measurement equipment used for instrumentation of development hardware or prototype demonstrators that will go into testing. This may involve component testing or full-scale engine tests. The most common measurement equipment involves pressure, temperature, vibration, and strain.

Your responsibilities also include:

· Design and construction of measurement probes, wiring, fittings, adapters, terminal blocks, and similar.

· Preparation and review of definition documents for manufacturing

· Participation in the preparation of quotes for new instrumentation projects

· Development of models for prototype production

· Working in cross-functional teams

Requirements for the position: · Relevant technical education, preferably at the M.Sc. level · Documented extensive experience in design and construction · Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written · Good knowledge of Microsoft Office

Desirable qualifications: · Experience working with electrical integration · Experience with Siemens NX · Knowledge of measurement technology
