Oral Surgeon at Neuro Head and Neck Center

At the Neuro Head and Neck Center (NHHC), approximately 650 people are currently working on various aspects of investigation, treatment, and rehabilitation of diseases and injuries to the nervous system, brain, ears, nose, throat, and jaw surgery. The center is a regional clinic providing highly specialized care for patients from the entire northern healthcare area, and also conducts research, education, and development.

The jaw surgery department regularly collaborates with other medical specialties in connection with surgery for head and neck tumors, as well as for cleft lip, jaw, and palate, and for complex facial fractures/neurocranial injuries. We perform all types of surgical procedures and investigations that belong to the jaw surgical care panorama. For inpatient care, we have beds at the Ear, Nose, Throat, and Jaw Surgery department where we have our own care responsibility. The jaw surgery department also has a very close collaboration with other dental specialties located in close proximity to the clinic. Our referrers are found in both general dental care and private dental care.

We have regular therapy discussions and exchanges with other jaw surgery clinics within the northern healthcare region. In collaboration with the Department of Dentistry at the Faculty of Medicine, we conduct basic education for dental students and further education for dental nurses in the subject. Clinical supervision is included as a mandatory part of the clinical service for all staff. The department has been conducting research in reconstructive jaw surgery for many years.

The development and quality work primarily concerns digital treatment planning in implant surgery, orthognathic surgery, and reconstructive surgery. We have three specialists in jaw surgery, including one university lecturer, one assistant lecturer/trainee dentist, two additional trainee dentists, one general dentist, nine dental nurses, one nurse, one dental assistant, and one medical secretary. We staff the jaw surgery on-call service around the clock, every day of the week throughout the year.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a senior dentist with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes employees and patients feel secure.

In the role of senior dentist, you treat patients in all clinical areas included in the jaw surgery specialty. You participate in the clinic's assignments such as consultancy, multidisciplinary treatment planning, clinical supervision, theoretical teaching, and on-call duties. In addition to clinical work, interest and engagement in the clinic's educational and development work are also required.

There are good opportunities to be involved in leading the clinic as a medical chief.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a Swedish dental license and specialist competence in jaw surgery, preferably someone who is a PhD and active in research. We place great importance on personal qualities. Things we value highly are a positive attitude, a high degree of flexibility, openness to new challenges, and a patient-centered focus. Good collaboration skills are a very important quality for you as an applicant for the position.
