Description

The goal of the Meal Unit is to provide all diners with a good, varied, and nutritious meal. We strive to prepare food from scratch and, whenever possible, use Swedish, locally produced, and fair-trade ingredients. The Meal Unit is responsible for the preparation and serving of food to the municipality's preschools, schools, and elderly care. The operation has about 30 employees and consists of 13 kitchens in urban and rural areas, of which 7 are production kitchens.

The Meal Unit has a close collaboration with other Dalsland municipalities and Säffle Municipality in the work with procurements and common goal documents.

We actively work towards climate goals for 2030, both in the Meal Unit and in the municipality. We continuously monitor goals regarding sustainable meals and food waste. For us, continuous development work and participation are important to achieve good results.

Job Responsibilities

Work in a reception kitchen means that the main component comes from a production kitchen, where accompaniments and adapted diets are prepared on-site, salad preparation, self-control work, orders, serving, dishwashing, cleaning, and other tasks that occur in a large kitchen.

This is a 3-month temporary position starting from 5/5 or by agreement, with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with restaurant and large-scale catering education, other education and/or experience that the employer deems equivalent. It is an advantage if you have training in allergies and special diets. You have knowledge and interest in good and nutritious meals where the guest and the dining environment are central.

We work with sustainable meals and reducing food waste, so it is important that you are environmentally conscious. You can work independently as well as collaborate in a team, you work efficiently and are customer-oriented with a pronounced sense of service.

As a person, you are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions with diners. You take responsibility for your tasks and are skilled at organizing and planning your work. Furthermore, you have good communication skills, are loyal, and find it easy to collaborate and get along with others.

It is important that you can express yourself well in both speech and writing. You should be able to speak, read, and understand Swedish.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Conditions

Computer skills are a requirement as food orders are made digitally. We work with the dietary data program Matilda, so experience with this is an advantage.

The kitchens within the Meal Unit collaborate with each other, so you may need to substitute a colleague in another kitchen as needed.

Job interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period.
