SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.

SiS Youth Home Nereby operates in Harestad and Bergsjön. We conduct differentiated and high-quality school, care, and treatment work. The operation includes a variety of professions, such as teachers, treatment pedagogues, psychologists, nurses, and more. SiS Youth Home Nereby receives both school-attending and non-school-attending boys with psychosocial issues, as well as criminality and substance abuse.

Job Description

SiS Youth Home Nereby is currently seeking a temporary substitute for the central kitchen in Harestad, outside Kungälv.

Working in our large kitchen involves planning, preparing, and cooking nutritious and delicious meals for the institution's youth. Meals and nutrition are an important part of our mission, as approximately 100 portions are prepared daily, five days a week, distributed over several meals. In addition, the kitchen staff also prepares meals for the weekends.

As a cook, you will work in a team with other kitchen staff and be operational in your work. You need to enjoy cooking in a large kitchen while also seeing the kitchen and dining room as a whole. Your tasks include not only cooking daily meals but also ordering goods, planning menus, and packing items that department staff collect for the departments. The tasks also include self-control in accordance with applicable legislation and following the state framework agreement when ordering.

Since the institution is geographically divided into two areas, there will be packing of food that needs to be delivered between the institutions.

Our vision is to be a place for change, which permeates our approach, our commitment, and our attitude. If you want to be part of Nereby's growth into a larger institution, you are welcome to apply for this position.

Qualifications

You have previous experience working in a kitchen, restaurant, or food production. It is advantageous if you have knowledge of traditional Swedish cuisine and/or an interest in vegetarian cooking, as well as a strong desire to prepare good and nutritious food from scratch for our youth and staff. Since you will also collaborate with other workgroups, good teamwork skills are required, along with being attentive, flexible, and service-minded. The ability to plan/structure and meet deadlines is very important. You must have a good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing, as much communication occurs both internally and externally with suppliers. IT skills are an advantage. Personal suitability is of central importance.

  • Good knowledge of hygiene regulations and self-control
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, as well as good computer skills

Desirable:

  • Hygiene training

We will place great emphasis on your personal suitability.
