Eating Disorder Unit in Östersund
The Eating Disorder Unit in Östersund offers evidence-based specialist care for patients with eating disorders. The unit is part of the Psychiatry Department at Östersund Hospital under Region Jämtland Härjedalen.
With us, you will work in a multidisciplinary team where we combine our specific expertise to provide patients with cohesive and safe care. We have a work environment characterized by close collaboration, clear communication, and a solution-focused approach. We value an open and unpretentious culture where we support each other and collectively drive the operations forward. Our work is based on the region's core values: welcoming, action-oriented, and reliable.
Residents of Jämtland County in need of specialist psychiatry receive their treatment in outpatient or inpatient care within the psychiatry department at Östersund Hospital. The staff in the units have a significant responsibility to develop and improve care in collaboration with the area's management. In total, there are about 270 employees in the area.
We offer a position where you will have the opportunity for continuous professional development and supervision. As an employee of Region Jämtland Härjedalen, you have access to wellness benefits in the form of wellness hours or wellness grants, as well as well-equipped training facilities with both individual training and group training sessions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a therapist at the Eating Disorder Unit, you will work in specialist psychiatric outpatient care and be part of a multidisciplinary team that collectively is responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients with eating disorders. Treatment is provided individually and in groups, both physically and digitally, and is tailored to the patient's needs. In addition to regular outpatient treatment, we also offer day care, where the interventions are more intensive. We collaborate with inpatient care to ensure a cohesive care chain for patients being treated there.
Our treatment work is based on CBT-E (Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders), an evidence-based method that combines cognitive and behavioral techniques with psychoeducation. The aim is to help patients understand their eating disorder, identify and change problematic behavior patterns, and develop strategies for long-term recovery.
Your role also includes leading educational meals, collaborating with other care providers and authorities, and contributing to the development of the unit. You will become part of an engaged team where we actively work to improve and develop care based on patients' needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- We are looking for someone with relevant education for assessment and treatment work within caring professions, with the ability to work according to evidence-based practice.
- Experience in and/or training in CBT-E as well as assessment and treatment of eating disorder issues is advantageous.
- Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
