Technical Communicator

Your Role

ILS Surface Ships is responsible for conducting operational safety analyses and maintenance analyses aimed at ensuring that the vessel products have high availability and can be maintained efficiently. This means that the right spare parts, tools, and updated documentation are available, and last but not least, that the crew has the right training.

In this role, we are looking for a Technical Communicator who can both coordinate project efforts and perform the work of a technical communicator. As a Technical Communicator with us, you will have the opportunity to create technical product information for our surface vessels.

We work with technical information in XML. Therefore, you should have experience working with XML and knowledge of regulations for the production of technical documentation to succeed in the role. You will collaborate with technical communicators to produce interactive and digital publications and compile printed materials. These should describe and reflect safe, adequate, and efficient handling and maintenance of Saab products and services. You are expected to be reliable and take responsibility for meeting set goals within the work area.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who has worked as a technical communicator for a few years and has experience with structured information and knowledge of, for example, XML, FrameMaker, S1000D.

As a person, you are meticulous with a structured approach, and we see that you have analytical thinking. Since we work in teams, we want you to be social and experienced in project work. You have the ability to see the big picture as well as to delve into details where necessary.

Your Qualifications

  • Engineer - BSc
  • At least 3 years of experience in one of the areas: Technical Information
  • Excellent Swedish and English in speech and writing
  • XML, Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat Pro
  • Creo Illustrate
  • Advanced level in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
