Quality Engineer for Aircraft Maintenance Unit

Blekinge Air Force Wing is looking for a Quality Engineer for the Aircraft Maintenance Unit. “Having a close collaboration with and being a support to the operations, with the opportunity to drive development work locally and centrally within the Air Force, has been very rewarding and educational,” says Cecilia Lindskog, who is now moving on to new challenges at F 17. Therefore, we are looking for a replacement for her position as Quality Engineer.

In the role of Quality Engineer for aircraft maintenance, you will lead the quality work within aircraft maintenance at your unit and collaborate with other units in the quality area. You will ensure that the operations comply with the regulations and directives through audits both locally at the unit and throughout the Air Force. You will drive the development of the operations locally by, for example, implementing results from audits and operational deviations.

At the Aircraft Maintenance Unit, there are two aircraft maintenance companies and one aircraft workshop company. As a quality engineer, you will work together in a team within the unit management of the Aircraft Maintenance Unit.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the quality work within aircraft maintenance
  • Ensure that the operations comply with the regulations and directives through audits both locally at the unit and throughout the Air Force
  • Drive the development of quality work locally within the unit
  • Review and submit applications for flight certificates for aspiring aircraft technicians
  • Stay updated on several regulations such as Military Aviation Regulations (RML), Local Operational Leaders (LML), Management of Continued Airworthiness (LFL), and Qualification for Aircraft Technicians (SE-EMAR)
  • Conduct training in the operations on regulations and other relevant directives

You may also participate in other tasks that occur at the Aircraft Maintenance Unit.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Quality education or other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Driver's license B
  • Very good computer skills in the Office package
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.

We are looking for someone with personal attributes characterized by accuracy and a high quality awareness, as well as a focus on safety. You should thrive in the role of coordinating and managing many different tasks simultaneously, which requires you to quickly adapt and find solutions when unforeseen situations arise. Since you will be conducting some training, it is important that you feel comfortable in the role of trainer. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability for the position.

Desirable

  • Experience in quality work such as quality development and quality assurance work.
  • Familiarity with aircraft maintenance operations at the unit level
  • Knowledge of the regulations governing military and civil aviation (RML, LML, LFL, SE-EMAR)
  • Military flight certificate and experience in managing work within aircraft maintenance services, including support systems.
  • FM auditor training or other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Experience in leading projects and/or operations.

Employment type: Permanent position with an initial probationary period of 6 months.

Travel in the service may occur.
