Improvement Leader

Your Role

In your role as an Improvement Leader, you will work on both new construction and modernization projects of submarines and surface vessels. You will be part of the collaboration between design/preparation and production in the development and integration of new technical solutions. You belong to the Shipbuilding Engineering (SBE) area where we work with production calculations, construction methodology, and assembly order including geometry assurance, make/buy assessments, design analyses, and preparation of the product's manufacturing documentation.

You will be placed in the process and management support section with the task of managing, mitigating, and preventing deviations and driving solutions to production disturbances, ensuring that set delivery and lead times are maintained in our customer projects. You will drive and participate in improvement cases and forums, have frequent cross-functional contacts, and ensure progress in our improvement projects. You will also work with our management system and drive work related to instructions and procedures.

Your Profile

You have a strong customer focus and thrive in service-oriented tasks where the pace is high, and you drive and take responsibility for the execution of activities. You have a genuine interest in business development, improvement work, and technology, and understand the importance of interacting and working cross-functionally to find the best answers to complex problems. To do this, we see that you have the ability to meet people and build relationships. You need to think outside the box and dare to ask questions.

Requirements

  • Education in mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in business development and/or improvement work.
  • Green Belt or similar training in improvement work/deviation management.
  • Strong technical interest and a curious approach.

Meritorious

  • Knowledge of project methodology.
  • Marine industry, process, or manufacturing industry.
  • Large-scale, complex development projects and operations.
  • Design and preparation of production documentation.
  • System knowledge in Aveva Marine, Aveva ERM, Creo, Windchill, and Weldeye.
  • Experience in reporting, data management, and practical knowledge of Microsoft Office.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
