Dance Teacher/Dance Educator Wanted at Lugnetgymnasiet

Lugnetgymnasiet's aesthetic program is seeking a dedicated dance teacher/dance educator who wants to teach jazz and classical ballet. In our dance program, we work with dance productions, performances both in and outside of school, as well as collaborative projects with other aesthetic programs. We have our own large stage with professional sound and lighting, where students can develop as dancers and meet an audience. The school is located in an inspiring environment next to both nature reserves and sports facilities.

Kristine and Lugnetgymnasiet have a total of about 1800 students, making it Falun's largest high school. Together, the schools offer 15 national programs as well as various IM tracks. Kristinegymnasiet is centrally located in Falun's city center while Lugnetgymnasiet is next to Falun's major sports facility, Lugnet.

Responsibilities

As a dance teacher with us, you will teach jazz and classical ballet (Vaganova), where you will work with technical training, terminology, and stage expression. Teaching will take place both individually and in groups, and you will have the opportunity to develop choreographies for performances and productions. The role also includes planning and executing performances, which may involve evening work. You will also be a mentor for students and contribute to their development, both artistically and personally.

Qualifications

The following is required for the role:

• Education as a dance teacher, dance educator, or equivalent experience deemed relevant by the employer
• Good knowledge of ballet and jazz
• Experience in building technical training and choreography for stage performances

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, good collaboration skills, and flexibility, as the role involves many contact points both internally and externally. You have a strong commitment and a passion for leading artistic processes while providing students with the technical tools to develop.

Desirable qualifications

• Experience with digital educational tools
• Teaching certification in an additional subject within upper secondary school
