Data Platform Engineer
Location: Oslo, Norway (Hybrid – flexible with some remote work)
Start Date: Early Fall 2025
Languages: Norwegian (or other Nordic language) conversational, and professional English
About The Role
For our client we are looking for a Data Platform Engineer. You will join a specialized consulting environment focused on helping our clients extract value from their data. You will build scalable and flexible data platforms that support a wide range of data-driven initiatives - from traditional reporting to advanced analytics, machine learning, and real-time data use cases.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust data platforms.
- Develop infrastructure as code using modern tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes, Databricks, Snowflake, and dbt.
- Automate and optimize data workflows and pipelines.
- Implement strong data governance, security practices, and compliance through metadata management and lineage.
- Collaborate closely with data engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver platform capabilities aligned with business needs.
Your Qualifications
- 4–6 years of experience in data engineering or platform engineering roles.
- Solid experience building data platforms using Terraform (or equivalent tools) and preferably also Kubernetes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Azure; experience with AWS or GCP is advantageous.
- Familiarity with modern orchestration tools like Airflow, Data Factory, Dagster, or Prefect.
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Fabric, Synapse Analytics or BigQuery.
- Experience with dbt, or similar technologies, is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in consulting, software development, data science, or machine learning is beneficial.
