The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Gothenburg University and Chalmers is one of the largest mathematical institutions in the Nordic countries, with approximately 200 employees. The department consists of three divisions: Algebra and Geometry, Analysis and Probability Theory, and Applied Mathematics and Statistics.

Job Description

We are now seeking a university lecturer in mathematics to contribute to the department's activities in the Analysis and Probability Theory division, Analysis and Probability Theory (https://www.chalmers.se/institutions/mv/research/department-of-analysis-and-probability-theory/).

The successful candidate is expected to develop and conduct research in mathematics with an emphasis on analysis and participate in undergraduate and graduate education in mathematics at our institution.

We expect the new employee to contribute to strengthening and complementing the research conducted in the division of analysis and probability theory, e.g., in harmonic analysis, representation theory, partial differential equations, general relativity, spectral theory, geometric analysis, ergodic theory, and dynamical systems.

The division has dedicated teachers with extensive and broad experience in all aspects of undergraduate and graduate education in mathematics. We are appreciated by students and continuously seek opportunities for pedagogical improvement. Our ambition is to teach mathematics at the highest international level.
