About Us

The Psychosis Department is an acute psychiatric ward with 13 beds, primarily aimed at the care of individuals suffering from psychosis. The care is designed from a holistic perspective, taking into account the individual's specific needs and overall life situation. The department provides pharmacological treatment, Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), therapeutic conversations, and nursing based on person-centered care. We also consider the individual's social and economic situation, with support from a social worker. A psychologist is also available.

We are 25 people working in the department, consisting of nurses, caregivers, doctors, and medical secretaries. You will work in a care team where the goal is to provide good care for each unique individual. At the Psychosis Department, we continuously strive to deliver and develop person-centered care, which we hope you want to be a part of.

We have an ongoing pilot project for 1 year at the psychiatric clinic in Eskilstuna, namely a specialist psychiatric nursing team (SPOT), where nurses and caregivers work as a mobile team in consultation with doctors and a coordinator. They will provide psychiatric care at home. SPOT will only offer planned interventions aimed at increasing patient participation in their care.

Your Responsibilities

Typical nursing tasks included in the care work are, for example, distribution of medication and nursing technical tasks such as taking samples, inserting IVs, wound care, catheterization, handling EKGs, and bladder scanners. Therapeutic conversations, observation, documentation in the NCS Care Portal (which will transition to Cosmic in the fall of 2025), writing care plans, reporting, and being engaged in the development work in the department.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse, and for the position, it is required that you, in addition to your professional knowledge, can work both independently and in a team. You should be able to take initiative, be flexible, and have good collaboration skills. A specialist education in psychiatry is an advantage, but great importance is placed on experience, references, genuine commitment, a desire to develop care, good communication skills, and personal qualities.
