About Us

The Addiction Center is part of the psychiatric clinic at Mälarsjukhuset in Eskilstuna and operates in collaboration with the municipalities of Eskilstuna, Strängnäs, and Torshälla, as well as with healthcare partners and inpatient care. We utilize motivational interviewing and relapse prevention in our patient interactions.

Our patient group is aged 18 and above, often with comorbidity between psychiatric issues and substance abuse. The Addiction Center has around 20 employees, including doctors, nurses, psychologists, medical secretaries, and caseworkers from the municipality.

As a nurse at the Addiction Center, you will receive continuous nursing supervision. For nurses with step 1 competence, supervision is available. Regular meetings are held within the profession, consisting of experienced nursing colleagues. We have a close collaboration with social services, with whom we also share premises. This is an important part of promoting health and providing close care for our patient group.

Your Responsibilities

Outpatient work during weekdays, Monday to Friday. You will work with patient contact in close collaboration with doctors, nursing colleagues, social services, probation services, and other partners. Nursing documentation, telephone advice, medication distribution, caring/supportive/motivational conversations, and some sample collection.

Your Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse. We prefer that you have further education in psychiatry or previous experience in addiction care. We place great importance on personal qualities.
