Kriminalvården is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating, and adding on, and we are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, detention centers, and client transportation.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As one of our nurses has chosen to move on to another job, we are looking for someone who wants to develop in both somatic and psychiatric care and take personal responsibility. Kriminalvården provides certain open health and medical care, which means that all prisons and detention centers have medical clinics where inmates can seek care. In addition to nurses, there are general practitioners and psychiatrists available at the clinics. As a nurse, you will have your own clinic for assessing minor ailments, but you will also determine which applicants should see a doctor. This means you will work with both somatic and psychiatric health care for inmates, assist during doctor consultations, and primarily administer medications through dose dispensing. Documentation is done in the PMO patient data journal.

QUALIFICATIONS

In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and controlled. You have a strong sense of integrity and the ability to make correct assessments and priorities. You are quality-conscious and meticulous, and you have the ability to structure your approach and drive your processes forward.

You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We are looking for someone who has:

• Licensed nurse
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish

Meritorious:

• A relevant specialization or further education for the employer, such as in psychiatry, emergency care, outpatient care, or district nursing
• Work experience in the profession
• Relevant language skills
• Driver's license (B)

OTHER

We have high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. To work with us, you need to undergo a security screening in accordance with the Security Protection Act. For this position, a security screening interview will be conducted before a hiring decision is made.
