Steg till Arbete (STA) is a valuable and qualitative service procured by the Swedish Public Employment Service with the ultimate goal of identifying resources and support needs in a cohesive process, as well as strengthening and developing participants towards employment or education.

The target group consists of job seekers who, due to various obstacles, are far from the labor market and need individually tailored work preparation measures to approach professional life and/or start studies towards a profession. Read more about the assignment here!

We are now looking for you, an Occupational Therapist, who wants to be part of this exciting service!

You will primarily work in the northern parts of Stockholm and will schedule your workdays at various offices in the area.

Your main task will be to be responsible for conducting assessments and observations based on the following occupational therapy instruments:

  • Model of Human Occupation Screening Tool (MOHOST)
  • Dialog om arbetsförmåga (DOA)
  • Worker Role Interview (WRI)
  • Assessment of Work Characteristics (AWC)
  • Assessment of Work Performance (AWP)

Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and planning our work with the participant
  • Conducting competency assessments to highlight the participant's skills, conditions, and interests related to the labor market
  • Conducting qualitative assessments of our participants' abilities and needs as well as performing observations under work-like conditions
  • Providing support during activity performance
  • Varying activities based on a specific participant's needs, focusing on duration, complexity, and language skills - related to their target profession
  • Using Motivational Interviewing (MI) to highlight the participant's own resources and build trust in their abilities
  • Through lectures and individual conversations, discussing areas such as Activity Patterns, Stress, and the Importance of Balance
  • Responsible for follow-ups at the participants' work trial locations
  • Ensuring that the jointly set goals after each phase of the service are followed up and documented
  • Testing assistive devices when applicable
  • Collaboration with colleagues such as job consultants, study and career counselors, and language support
  • Collaboration and dialogue with the Public Employment Service at the local level

To succeed in your role, we believe you need a broad experience base and access to a solid toolbox from which to draw your recommendations.

You are responsible for our reporting to the client, which is why a strong aptitude for documentation will facilitate your work. Since the role involves many contacts both within and outside the organization, you need to be able to build trusting relationships with people easily.

Employment Conditions

  • Permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period
