The Vänersborg area consists of two prisons in Vänersborg and a remand prison in Uddevalla. The Östragård prison is an open facility with space for 191 clients, one department is aimed at clients convicted of sexual offenses. The Brinkeberg prison is a closed facility with space for 130, and the remand prison in Uddevalla has 57 places.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The job responsibilities include all tasks typically found in a large kitchen such as planning, preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as receiving goods. Cleaning the kitchen facilities, dishwashing, and self-control in accordance with applicable legislation are also part of the daily work. Preparation of special diets and other specific meals is included.

In the kitchens at the Uddevalla remand prison, chefs work, and in the kitchen at the Östragård prison, chefs work with the support of kitchen assistants. The Östragård prison prepares about 330 portions for each meal, with most of the food being prepared at the Östragård prison and transported to the Brinkeberg prison for serving. Here, lunch and dinner are prepared, and breakfast/evening meals are packed. In the role of chef at the Östragård prison, some guidance of clients working in the production kitchen may also occur. The Uddevalla remand prison prepares about 80 portions for each meal, and on weekdays, it also includes distributing lunch to the inmates.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has self-awareness. You are calm and controlled in stressful situations and collaborate well with others. You have good judgment and take responsibility for your tasks.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Restaurant or large-scale kitchen education at the high school level or other education combined with experience deemed relevant by Kriminalvården
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
• Driving license (B)

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working in large kitchens
• Experience working with self-controls
• Experience working with special diets
• Good computer skills
