Job Responsibilities

In the role of Data Engineer, you will work as a consultant for one of our clients. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data flows and data models in a modern Google Cloud environment. Your tasks will include:

• Creating and optimizing data pipelines using GCP services (e.g., BigQuery, Dataplex, Dataflow/Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Cloud Scheduler, and Cloud Workflows).
• Developing and implementing robust data models with dbt (data build tool) to meet the organization's analysis and data needs.
• Collaborating with analysts and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
• Ensuring good data quality by implementing monitoring and quality assurance procedures.
• Continuously working on performance and cost optimization of data architecture.
• Documenting and communicating data models and training the team in best practices.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong practical knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub).
• Experience in data modeling and transformation with dbt.
• Solid skills in SQL and good experience with Python.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, as well as a solution-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Experience with Terraform.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions.
• Experience in implementing data quality assurance and optimizing pipelines for both performance and cost.
