Your tasks

Welcome to Kärna home care and sheltered housing, where we work to create a safe and meaningful everyday life for our customers. We are now looking for an engaged specialist nursing assistant who wants to make a difference with their competence and commitment!

In the role of specialist nursing assistant, you will support and assist individuals in their daily lives. You will be part of our care staff team and work together with your colleagues during the day and every other weekend.

Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for structuring and planning interventions for the individual, ensuring that the right care is provided to manage daily living.

In your work, you are expected to have advanced knowledge that contributes to quality-enhancing efforts, including mentoring other care staff and relatives. You will also have a developing role in the organization and collaborate closely with the operations manager and nurse.

We have had a year of this working method and are now looking for another specialist nursing assistant who can contribute to further developing our operations. We would like you to take responsibility for both the indoor work required and for being out and providing support to those who live at home. You will initially work during the day and every other weekend. We adjust the work weekends so that the specialist nursing assistants take turns on weekends.

Your workplace

Kärna home care and sheltered housing is operated by the Health and Care Administration and is located on Kärnabrunnsgatan in Malmslätt. Here we offer 36 sheltered housing units where residents can receive support from home care. The residence has a pleasant outdoor area, both adjacent to the dining room and at the back, surrounded by greenery. In addition to the residents of the sheltered housing, we also assist individuals living at home, both in central Malmslätt and in rural areas. We work closely with nurses and rehabilitation teams to meet each individual's needs.

At the workplace, you will be part of a team of about 30 employees, the majority of whom are nursing assistants of varying ages. We value community and strive to create a pleasant working environment. To promote this, we gather when possible, shortly after morning visits to check in on the residents' mornings and exchange experiences. Every four weeks, we hold workplace meetings (APT), where we discuss development issues and other important topics to ensure continuous improvement in our work.

Who you are

We are looking for someone who is a trained specialist nursing assistant with a chosen area of specialization and has experience working in support, care, and nursing. It is desirable but not required that you have previously worked as a specialist nursing assistant.

We consider it an advantage if you have knowledge of the IBIC (Individual's Needs in Center) working method. Experience with a low-arousal approach and salutogenic perspective is also advantageous.

Work in elderly care involves a lot of customer contact and documentation, which means we require you to communicate verbally and in writing in the Swedish language. You have a good ability to use digital tools in your work and have experience documenting in journal systems. For the position, you need to be able to cycle, and it is advantageous if you have a B driver's license.

As a person, you are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks and are aware of goals and quality standards. You also work well with others, resolve conflicts constructively, and differentiate between personal and professional matters. You have specialized knowledge that you continuously maintain while being a knowledge resource for others, and you demonstrate a good understanding of how individuals absorb knowledge based on different conditions.
