At the District Veterinarians in Växjö, we are a cheerful team of veterinarians, veterinary nurses, and animal caregivers. The practice area involves a mixed practice with a strong focus on fieldwork. We are a small group with a good atmosphere, and we support each other in our work. For us, community and laughter are important; we enjoy our jobs. We create an environment where we help each other, and questions are always welcome. Here, we primarily work with farm animals and horses but also have a small animal clinic with development potential.

The clinic is about a 10-minute drive from Växjö city center and is easily accessible whether you want to drive, cycle, or use public transport. The city and municipality of Växjö have something for everyone, a university city with everything from internationally award-winning restaurants, museums, and sports arenas to countryside cafés, Europe’s longest zipline, and access to a plethora of outdoor activities in one of the city’s many green areas or in one of the municipality’s 23 nature reserves. With its central location in southern Sweden, Växjö is easy to reach by car, train, or plane.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main job responsibilities are to contribute as a team member in our daily clinical work and to contribute to the clinic's common development at your own level. If you have a special competence or interest, we would like to highlight it in the best way.

As a general practitioner veterinarian with us, you will work with both scheduled patients and emergency patients. You have the opportunity to develop in the area that you find most exciting. Our operations are focused on primary care, but we also prefer to follow the patients as far as we can. Your introduction to the workplace will be tailored to your skills and experience as well as your area of interest. An important part of our mission is disease control and animal welfare; if you are particularly interested in working with that, there are great opportunities for development. We are looking for someone who appreciates variety but also has a particular interest in horses or cattle, and there is some opportunity to specialize in specific animal species during the day.

On-call duty is included in the schedule, and the opportunity for good collegial support and sufficient recovery is a given when we schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a veterinarian. You may be newly graduated or more experienced. You may have worked for a few years in mixed practice and enjoy the variety or are interested in trying it out. You enjoy a challenge but also appreciate having a solid foundation to stand on. The thought of working with everything from disease control to hamsters feels exciting, and you are not afraid to ask your colleagues for advice. Or you might want to work a bit more niche but are open to working with all animal species during on-call time. You see that it is together that you create your conditions for success.

Your development is important to us. In your personal competence plan, you will therefore have a guaranteed spot in our introductory courses and the courses that suit your development in our course academy.

You are easy to collaborate with, flexible, and self-driven. We are looking for someone who understands that each patient and their owner are equally important, and no question is too small. You may not always have all the answers but are curious and do not give up until you have solved your challenge. Because you want a challenge!
