Resident Physician at the Eye Clinic in Region Kronoberg

The Eye Clinic consists of a reception in Ljungby and a reception/operating unit in Växjö. Currently, there are a total of 16 physician positions at the clinic, of which 4 are ST positions. In addition to healthcare personnel, the clinic also employs optometrists.

The clinic primarily conducts outpatient services with a reception but also surgical activities. This involves teamwork focused on glaucoma, pediatrics, neuro-ophthalmology, medical retina, cataract surgery, and outpatient surgery. The clinic also has a focus on medical cornea, including performing crosslinking.

The facilities are fresh and well-equipped with good technical equipment at the reception in Växjö, and the reception in Ljungby is set to move to new premises in the near future.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You are offered a fixed-term position as a resident physician. After that, the position may transition into an ST physician position. During the temporary position, you will work in ST-like conditions and can credit the time towards a subsequent ST position.

As an ST physician, you will participate under supervision in all tasks within the specialty, including on-call duties. Training occurs within the framework of the ST program with individual supervision. You will have access to a generous education fund of 110,000 SEK that enables further education and participation in conferences or similar events not available within the region.

The ST position is structured so that you spend six months in each team in two different rounds.

External rotations at university hospitals focusing on neuro-ophthalmology, uvea, and posterior segment surgery are also included.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed physician who wants to specialize in ophthalmology. Experience from previous work in ophthalmology is an advantage.
