All machines are manufactured on-site outside Ljusfallshammar, but our customers are located all over the world.

About the role

As the Head of Design, you will lead and develop our design department, which consists of a number of technology-interested designers working on the new and further development of Lämneå Bruk's products. You are responsible for ensuring high quality and efficiency in all projects, in close collaboration with our sales organization. You report to the CEO and are part of the production management group, and you will have close cooperation with our technical manager as well as extensive contact points with our production departments and sales organization. Our designers work in IronCAD, from detail drawings and complete assemblies to layouts of entire production units. You will be driving the work to develop our wire drawing machines, which often have a high degree of customization. As the Head of Design, you will have the opportunity to closely observe the entire production chain, from idea to finished product.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing the design department, including personnel responsibility, skills development, and resource planning.
• Being responsible for technical product development, from the concept stage to finished product.
• Ensuring that design and construction meet both customer requirements and various production demands.
• Driving improvement projects and developing our work processes to increase efficiency in the department's work.
• Collaborating closely with the production manager, sales organization, technical manager, and CEO.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has an engineering degree in mechanical engineering or another education that we consider equivalent.
• Has at least 5–10 years of experience in machine design or related fields.
• Has documented experience in leading teams and/or driving technical projects.
• Has solid knowledge of CAD tools; experience with our CAD system IronCAD is a plus.
• Is an engaged and communicative leader with a strong technical interest and a desire to develop and motivate your team.
