The area of operation (VO) intensive and perioperative care at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) in Lund offers surgical care, anesthesia care, postoperative care, and intensive care. Here, patients are cared for before, during, and after their surgery.

At the area of operation intensive and perioperative care (VO IPV) at Skåne University Hospital in Lund, highly specialized anesthesia and surgical care is provided in surgery, ear, nose, and throat (ENT), orthopedics, maxillofacial surgery, neurosurgery, oncology, ophthalmic surgery, and gynecology.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone driven by an interest in highly specialized surgeries and teamwork. As an anesthesia nursing assistant in our operating rooms, no day is the same. With us, you will have the opportunity to work as an anesthesia nursing assistant with many different types of surgeries and patient groups. The work offers great variation and always with a strong focus on patient safety. Your tasks include preparing and assisting before anesthesia, various blocks, CVK insertions, catheter placements, and connecting patients with monitoring equipment. Emergency surgeries, where you will assist, occur at all hours of the day.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a trained nursing assistant with a focus on emergency care or according to the new program structure. It is important that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. We want you to have at least two years of experience working in emergency care, such as in an emergency department or intensive care unit. Other work experience within hospital care is meritorious for the position.

This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within healthcare and social services. If you currently have a permanent position as a nursing assistant and are offered a new position, you can retain your title as a nursing assistant until June 30, 2033. In the case of an interview/employment, you must be able to present proof of protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed on July 1, 2023. If you do not currently have a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare or are covered by transitional provisions, this means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant and not nursing assistant.
