School Nurse for Strängnäs Municipality

The central child and student health service (CBEH) belongs to the area of operations Language and Support together with the medical service of the student health (EMI) and other school nurses, school psychologists, and school doctors. Your immediate supervisor is the head of the medical service for student health. You will be placed and work at the school(s) you are assigned to. As a school nurse, you will also collaborate closely with other school nurses within Strängnäs Municipality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work preventively and promote a good environment for students' health, learning, and development through health visits, vaccinations, health follow-ups, and work in the student health team at the school. In the student health team (EHT), you contribute your expertise in medicine, nursing, and student health, where you will also collaborate closely with the principal, vice principal, counselor, special educator, psychologist, guardians, and regional and external authorities, such as social services, habilitation, child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), and primary care.

You will have close collaboration with school nurses within Strängnäs Municipality through network meetings and joint staff meetings, where staff from the central child and student health service also participate. We offer you, as a new school nurse with us, an introductory training and mentorship, depending on your previous work experience in the profession or your wishes as a new employee. We also offer a wellness allowance of 2000 SEK per year.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is/has:

• licensed nurse with specialist nursing education in Health and Medical Care for Children and Youth, District Nurse, or School Nurse Program.
• good computer skills.
• good ability to express oneself in spoken and written Swedish.

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience working as a school nurse and/or other supportive work with children and youth.
• experience working in systems such as PMO.
• driver's license (B).
