Department Head at FMTIS in Örebro

About the Unit

FMTIS has four execution units (GE) in Sweden that perform maintenance of the Armed Forces' command systems in the IT and telecommunications area. The position is located at GE West. The unit works with maintenance of telecommunications, electrical, radio, sensor, and alarm/access systems. The unit is also responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of various IT systems. In addition, the unit serves as the back-end workshop level for other units' command support systems. The department in Örebro currently has about ten employees with planned growth.

Main Responsibilities

As department head, you plan, lead, coordinate, and follow up on the department's work while maintaining workplace safety responsibility. You exercise personnel responsibility for the department's employees and are responsible for their skills development. The department's main task is primarily the maintenance and operation of the Armed Forces' IT and communication systems within the Örebro garrison and the surrounding area. Travel for training, collaboration, and exercises is common in the position.

Qualifications

  • 3-year high school education or equivalent knowledge that the employer can assess as equivalent
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Driver's license B (manual transmission)

You have good social skills and apply developmental leadership in your daily work. Furthermore, we see that you take your own initiatives and are creative in solving tasks. Meritorious

  • Current and relevant experience from a supervisory role
  • Experience and knowledge of the Armed Forces' command support systems
  • Experience in a technical position within the Armed Forces

Other

Civil permanent employment that may begin with a six-month probationary period.
Work location: Örebro
Start date: As soon as possible or according to agreement.
